Mark initially qualified as a Physiotherapist in Adelaide. He commenced his career as a Physiotherapist working in the USA for 5 years in various locations / settings. He returned to Australia working in Sydney for 5 years, focusing on the treatment of musculoskeletal / work-related injuries. During this time he commenced his studies in Psychology, returning to Adelaide to complete his Masters. He has since worked as a Clinical Psychologist in private practice settings treating general mental health conditions, specialising in the area of persistent / chronic pain over the last 14 years. He has worked at PainMedSA since 2011. Mark’s treatment focus is on education regarding pain based on the latest research, self management strategies to assist people in achieving an optimum level of function in relation to their pain, and addressing mental health comorbidities if required. This treatment approach is undertaken in the context of an interdisciplinary team aiming to address the complex nature of pain from a biopsychosocial perspective.
