General Information about Practitioner

Dr Matthew Green has worked with Pain Medicine South Australia since 2005. Having completed his Undergraduate Degree at the Flinders University of Adelaide, Dr Green completed his Fellowship with the Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine (Royal Australasian College of Physicians) in 2005 having trained in Adelaide and Darwin (Northern Territory). Dr Green also completed his speciality with the Faculty of Pain Medicine, and was awarded Fellowship in 2005 having trained at the Royal Adelaide Hospital in Adelaide. Dr Green’s Fellowship in Interventional Pain Practice is held with the World Institute of Pain/Spinal Intervention Society of North America having obtained this qualification in New York in 2009.

At present, Dr Green continues to work at PainMedSA with a specialist multidisciplinary team, including our experienced Physiotherapists, Clinical Psychologists, Nurse Practitioners and Specialist Clinical Research Team at Cercare.

Dr Green undertakes a wide variety of interventional pain procedures including diagnostic medial branch block/radiofrequency neurotomy of the spine, peripheral nerve block and treatment of neuropathic condition of the limbs. Dr Green also undertakes procedures in neuromodulation which include spinal cord stimulation, dorsal root ganglion stimulation, peripheral nerve field stimulation and the ReActiv8 device.

Dr Green continues to focus heavily on the interdisciplinary care required for patients with persistent pain irrespective of its origin. Our team all meet regularly at clinical case conferences to formulate strategic plans and facilitate best outcomes for patients requiring a comprehensive care plan.

Research & Affiliations

Dr Green as Director of Cercare, a clinical research alliance, continues to enrol patients in South Australia for trials in pharmaceutical and neuromodulation treatments for persistent pain.
