Rhizolysis (also known as radiofrequency lesioning) is a form of treatment offered by the pain and rehabilitative specialists at PainMedSA. The aim is to cause heat damage to the nerves that supply the facet or sacroiliac joints to stop it sending signals back to the spine which can cause pain.
It is indicated in cases where a patient's pain has not improved with medication and/or physical therapy and are not candidates for other types of surgery.
